Dewalt DW715 Review 2017

This particular saw is currently ranking in at #1 on Amazon among power miter saws. Needless to say, we are excited to see if this particular saw lives up to the hype.

Initial Impressions:

First off, the miter and bevel were perfectly aligned right from the get-go. We tested this with our triangle and a few cut tests. This is a plug. We can’t tell you how many miter saws come out of alignment. This just adds to the positive initial reaction to this particular saw. Getting the saw out of the box was ridiculously easy due to its carrying handle being located on the saw’s head.

It felt extremely solid and at the perfect point for centre balance. The locking pin which works to keep the saw head down as you are carrying it can be slid out easily but it does not have a problem supporting the entire weight of the saw head. There is a spring that prevents it from coming out accidentally. What we really enjoyed about holding this particular saw is that it had great moulds for your hands on both sides of the base that have rounded edges preventing the machine from digging into your palms/hands. It was definitely more comfortable to hold than most miter saws we have tested.

The bevel stops at 0 and 45 degrees which let you easily access common angles. However, it can be slid back and forth easily in case you need to make adjustments on the fly or make adjustments to a particular cut. The bevel locking aspect is nice and big which makes it extremely easy to grip and turn as needed. The miter adjustment is extremely solid. The quick detents do not have any wiggle room and the detent override aspect makes it extremely easy to adjust the saw to virtually any angle. The push down miter is very simple and very easy to use.

We noticed that the dust-bag would collect around half of the overall dust. Thus, the bag filled up quite a bit in a short amount of time.
Everything in regards to the actual saw is extremely solid and the build quality is above par. Not many miter saws on the market have the same type of build quality as this Dewalt.

This is a 12-Inch Single-Bevel Compound Miter Saw. We have looked throughout the market and have yet to find one that matches this in terms of price to value ratio. This miter saw brings a lot of features and value at a very competitive price-point. The motor is extremely powerful and will help you cut anything you need. It features an extremely powerful 15 amp motor that delivers a no-load speed of 4,000 rpm. Not to mention, this particular saw comes with a limited 3 year warranty. Therefore, you can bet that it will stick around for a long time.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, we would all say that this saw was a pleasure to handle. The saw itself was extremely solid and accurate. It made cutting easy and we never felt like we needed to really make adjustments as the saw was cutting straight the whole time. The one con that we noticed was that the saw is extremely loud. However, we are willing to look past that given the fact that this saw offers so much value at such a good price point.

We would also like to have a higher quality blade from the get-go, but we understand the inclusion of the stock blade being that the price is very competitive. The bottom line is, if you are in the market for the perfect miter saw, this is as close as you are going to get. This is easily the best miter saw on the market currently and we can now see why it is ranked #1 on Amazon. This is the saw to get if you are looking for the best bang for your buck.
